The United States hosted the AIM for Climate Summit at the JW Marriott on May 8-10, 2023, in Washington, D.C. The Summit, supported by Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR), brought together partners to increase and accelerate investment in and support for climate-smart agriculture and food systems innovation.

The Summit was a premier global event “for the partners, by the partners” that provided a game-changing platform for policymakers, industry leaders, producers, civil society groups, and scientists and researchers worldwide to raise ambition, and amplify their work in, climate-smart agriculture and food systems innovation.

Principles

The Summit integrated the following principles into all aspects of the event:

1. Foster and enable co-creation and multi-stakeholder partnership through participatory dialogue, experiential activations and interactions with Summit audience.

2. Ensure people feel heard by elevating all voices, sharing authentic stories and supporting collective action by including gender, youth, indigenous and regional representation.

3. Transmit a message of resilience and hope for the future by showcasing the tremendous possibilities of the 21st century alongside timely provocative topics of local and global significance with a solutions-based approach.

4. Provide a platform to highlight partner contributions to AIM for Climate’s goal and objectives, display domestic and international climate-smart agriculture and food systems innovation priorities, and foster new partnerships towards these aims.
